It is critical to mobilise the entire business sector to achieve the 1.5°C ambition and halve emissions by 2030. In addition to rapidly reducing their own emissions, businesses also have to reduce emissions in their supply chains.
Renewable energy is an essential part of bringing down supply chain emissions, and companies play a critical role in supporting their suppliers to shift to renewable energy. The case studies presented here are based on research and direct conversations with members in the RE100 initiative and the Exponential Roadmap Initiative. They detail key success drivers and major barriers for companies supporting their suppliers in shifting to renewable energies, in order to inspire and guide others.
