Climate Advisory Group

This is an initiative founded by the Exponential Roadmap Initiative in collaboration with leading climate consultants in the Nordics. It aims to accelerate the scaling of best practices, harmonise carbon accounting, and contribute to the development of new guidelines and standards — supporting companies in the Nordics and beyond.

The Exponential Roadmap Initiative brings together a Climate Advisory Group to create a collaborative platform for relevant actors to drive meaningful climate action.
Through the 3S framework, the initiative focuses on:

• Setting best practices to establish high-impact standards
• Sharpening and developing guidance to ensure clarity, relevance, and effectiveness
• Scaling out solutions to maximise impact across the region

Limiting global warming, within safe planetary boundaries, requires rapid decarbonisation of the business sector. Each company’s journey to net zero begins with understanding, calculating, and disclosing its greenhouse gas emissions, followed by setting clear targets and implementing plans to reduce them. But climate leadership doesn’t stop there. Companies also need to transform their product and service portfolios to scale climate solutions, accelerate the shift away from the fossil-based economy, and support broader societal action.

Although the GHG Protocol standards are not designed for direct comparisons between companies, such comparisons are being made. Given the complexity of carbon accounting, full standardisation may not be feasible — but greater harmonisation in how solution providers interpret and apply the principles is both possible and necessary.

Throughout the net zero journey, many stakeholders have encountered barriers: fragmented guidelines that hinder coordinated action, slow scale-out of effective practices, gaps in existing standards, and a growing need for a more harmonised application of the GHG Protocol to ensure fair competition. Our ambition is to help close these gaps by delivering advanced, practical solutions that accelerate and strengthen companies’ race to net zero.
